Fretting over the holidays? Here are 3 tips on getting through the last few weeks of 2020!
1️⃣ Eat slowly, until you’re satisfied not stuffed
By doing this you’ll prevent yourself from overeating. Physiologically, it takes 15-20 minutes for your digestive system to let your brain know that it’s satisfied. So by slowing down, you allow the body time to feel content + remain on the same page.
2️⃣ Get active
How many times have you worked out hard for weeks or months, only to be derailed by the holidays + fall off the wagon? Too many. So keep it simple, make it a priority to do something active each day. It could be as small as a walk or as big as a fitness competition. By doing something active, you can remain the course + not feel derailed when the pie hits the table.
3️⃣ Set yourself up for success
Holidays are a busy time of year for all. It’s easy to opt for the quick junk food when you’re out shopping or running around. On the days when you feel like you have no time, try to bring a few healthy snacks with you. This just takes a few extra thoughts to prepare for, such as keeping hard boiled eggs in the fridge, or protein powder in pre-measured bags to throw into your water bottle.
These steps are challenging, of course, but not impossible.
